Privacy Policy

Gratic collects as little as it can while still working. No advertising, no tracking pixels, nothing sold to anyone.
What we store
- Your email address — it's how you sign in and how we send the one-time code.
- Your maps — the projects, drawings, symbol sets and images you create or upload, so they're there when you come back.
- Basic usage records — when you were last active and which project was open, used to understand how the editor is actually used and what to fix next.
- Server logs — ordinary technical records of requests, kept for operating and debugging the service.
What we don't do
We don't sell or rent your data, don't show ads, don't run advertising trackers, and don't look at the content of your maps except when you ask for help with a specific problem. The one analytics tool we use is described below — and it runs only if you agree to it.
Analytics on this website
This website (not the editor) uses Google Analytics to see which pages are read. It is switched off by default: nothing is fetched from Google and no analytics cookies are set until you press Allow in the banner. If you decline, we remember only that — a single value in your browser's local storage — and never ask again. If you allow it, Google Analytics sets its cookies and processes your IP address and page views on our behalf.
Reset your choice — the banner will ask again.
Your browser
When you sign in, a token is stored in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in. It is not an advertising cookie and is not shared with anyone. Clearing your browser storage signs you out.
Who else processes data
Running the service requires a few providers, each of which sees only what it needs:
- Cloudflare — hosting and delivery of the website and the editor.
- Google Cloud — the server where projects are stored.
- Resend — delivers the sign-in emails; it sees your email address.
- Mapbox — serves background map tiles; when you use an imagery layer, tile requests reach Mapbox.
Sharing a project
If you invite someone to a project, they can see that project's contents and the fact that you are a member of it. Removing a member ends their access.
How long we keep it
Your account and maps are kept while your account exists. Deleted projects are held for a short period so they can be restored, then removed. Ask us to delete your account and we'll remove your data.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for your account and its contents to be deleted. Write to us and we'll do it. Your maps can also be exported from the editor at any time in open formats.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
